New Training and Mentoring Program to Begin

The Advocacy for School Libraries Special Interest Group are recipients of an ABC-CLIO Grant that will establish a training and mentoring program in our state for school librarians and library paraprofessionals. We have divided the state into five sections with 1-2 leaders available for each section. In addition to “local” meetings, we will be purchasing a year of Go To Meeting so we can meet online and avoid all that pesky travel. We will be using it for section meetings, but also for state-wide school library training and mentoring. We will soon be contacting you asking for input and help. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in this state and we are so excited to be getting this off the ground. If you would like to help or have ideas for training, please contact Linda Keulen at or Lorie Mitchell at Stay tuned for more information over the next month!
